  About The School

History of College Street Elementary School

College Street Elementary School, first known as City School, is 90 years old.  The building was built in 1919 and originally served grades one through seven.  We are located on West College Street, but the name of the street at the time the school was built was Henry Street.  Our school was founded by Councilman R.O. "Ben" Fleming.  He saw the need for a larger elementary school for our town, Enterprise.  The 12 room school building was built with financing from the town council and a donation of 250,000 bricks.  We are proud to have recently celebrated 90 years of education that has helped build our great community.

College Street currently serves students in grades 1-6.  We have a total student population of 333 students.  Our staff members total 47 certified and noncertified members working together to educate our students.
